Koen is a Dutch tax lawyer with extensive knowledge of domestic and international tax law and transfer pricing issues with a particular focus on US multinationals.

He graduated in tax law at the Leiden University (1989) and  started his career at Loyens & Loeff. In 1994 he joined PepsiCo International  in London (UK) as their European Tax Manager. In 1996 he became the Group Tax Manager for PepsiCo in Asia based  in Hong Kong . In 2000, Koen returned to the Netherlands and joined a private internet company as Vice President of Tax. In that role he successfully guided the IPO of the company managing all tax aspects of the IPO and the subsequent delisting of the company upon takeover in 2001. In the period after 2001, he was involved in managing the tax and finance functions of a number of IT companies.

In 2004, Koen joined Diageo as Director of Corporate Services responsible for the tax and accounting affairs of the Diageo corporate companies in the Netherlands. Koen subsequently joined GE Capital in 2008 as the Tax Director for the Working Capital Solutions business unit based in the Netherlands.

In 2013, Koen decided to put his vast knowledge and domain expertise in the field of international, US and domestic (Dutch) taxation at work for the benefit of Fipaco as their Managing Partner – Tax. In 2015 he has successfully completed a Fipaco assignment for Kuwait Petroleum International (Q8) to act as their Global Head of Tax a.i. and was involved in a number of high profile business and M&A transactions for Q8.

Koen is a member of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisors (NOB) and lectures International Tax Law at the Avans University of Applied Science.
